About
IDORU is an anti-idol in an age of cult-like self-adoration. Her rebellious sonic signature & philosophy embrace the cyborgification of humanity, where human creativity & AI intertwine, forging a sound that's both otherworldly & deeply real. She channels chaos from our hyper-connected world into dark, groove-driven soundscapes—a blend of Detroit techno, industrial & electro beats, & Italo melancholy. Detroit-raised, IDORU has moved across many states in the US, with one constant mantra: music is sanctuary. Replicating "dance floor voodoo" in each track, her music aims to transform the club into a space where time stops & identity dissolves. From piano lessons, to band camp, to digging for rare records, IDORU is now co-founder at the helm of Manta Recordings, alongside label partner, SIAN. She consistently releases dance hits and hosts Manta Radio, a podcast with a residency on Insomniac Radio's ANALOG. She's appeared on Joyce Muniz's international show, FM4, & Diplo's Revolution on Sirius XM. She's been remixed by artists she deeply admires, including: Sherø, Boys' Shorts, Panther Modern, Jennifer Touch, Damon Jee, Musumeci, Local Suicide, & more. Other noteworthy artists on her label include YOUNA, David Carretta, BadWolf, Joyce Muniz, Waltervelt, Valmaiin, & more. IDORU released on Octopus Recordings, contributing to two chart-topping singles on Sian's album, Chaos, & most recently a collaboration with Back From The Wave on the revered German label, Iptamenos Discos.
