MacKenzie Johnson - known professionally as MAKJ — discovered DJing as a teenager racing cars in China and was determined to master it upon his return to the U.S. Self-taught on used turntables and at L.A.’s Icon Collective, he learned to mix under the mentorship of the legendary DJ AM. MAKJ quickly rose in the EDM scene, releasing tracks with Hardwell, Lil Jon, Tinashe, Timmy Trumpet, Steve Aoki, and Deorro, while performing at major festivals like Coachella, Ultra, Tomorrow Land, and EDC. Today, he blends hip-hop and diverse genres into his productions, pushing beyond the boundaries of EDM and shaping a dynamic sound. - make this alittle less cheesy
