Few selectors in Miami move the way RARA does. A Miami-based artist, producer, and selector with a historian’s ear for Afro diasporic sound, his sets span the full emotional range of Black dance music — from the high-BPM urgency of Batida, Kuduro, Bubblin, Miami bass, and Raboday that gets a room on its feet, to the melodic, heady depths of 3-step, Gqom, and Afro House — with dancehall and Caribbean sounds woven throughout. He is also the founder of Machina Records, a Miami-based label, and has collaborated on releases with local favorites V1fro, Ale Acosta, Mick Jerome, Liquid Dinosaurs, and more.
