Septicflesh

Greece's SepticFlesh emerged in the early '90s with a visceral and uncompromising sound that looked as much to the cavernous halls of doom metal for inspiration as it did the icy vistas of black and death metal. The band's style and lineup have evolved over the decades (though their lineup firmed up in 2018), while their sound has taken on elements of neo-classical and symphonic metal in a theatrical and brutal approach perfected in the 2000s on stand-out LPs Sumerian Demons (2003), The Great Mass (2011), Codex Omega (2017), and Modern Primitive (2022). In 2025 they continued their progressive evolution with the Amphibians EP.
