The Coal Porters

The band re-emerged as an acoustic🎻🪕 bluegrass project and in 2001 released the all-acoustic bluegrass album The Chris Hillman Tribute Concerts. How Dark This Earth Will Shine and Turn the Water on, Boy! followed, the latter of which actually featured ex-Byrd Chris Hillman on mandolin. In 2009 they released Durango, produced by legendary Ramones/The Smithereens guru Ed Stasium.
