The Ettes

Serving up a sexy but undeniably fierce mix of pop smarts and garage rock power, the Ettes were cofounded by songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Lindsay "Coco" Hames and drummer/percussionist Maria "Poni" Silver. The band formed in 2003 and soon won a following for its mix of Nancy Sinatra style, Patsy Cline twang, and Stonesy rock. Radio airplay and live shows contributed to the Ettes' buzz, which eventually led to the group signing with Sympathy for the Record Industry. As the Parting Gifts, they collaborated with members of the Greenhornes, Reigning Sound, and the Black Keys in 2011 to release Strychnine Dandelion on In The Red Records. The Ettes released four critically acclaimed albums and various singles and EPs. The duo also cofounded Fond Object, a record store and arts collective in East Nashville, Tennessee in 2013. Hames toured in 2014 as a member of the New Pornographers, playing on Late Night with David Letterman, and began work on her first solo album which was released in 2017 on Merge Records. In March 2026, the band dropped a surprise new single, "Dangerous Girl", recorded at Rancho de la Luna in Joshua Tree, California with friends Dave Catching (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal) and Jack Lawrence (the Raconteurs, the Dead Weather) and announced plans to release more new music in 2026.
