The Moldy Peaches

One of the bands of New York's early 2000s anti-folk scene, Moldy Peaches' rough musicianship, lo-fi production, song melodies, and stark emotional vulnerability provided a sharp contrast to the cold distance of the rock revival taking place around the same time. Main members Kimya and Adam recorded numerous homemade songs that eventually made their way from self-released CDs to their self-titled 2001 debut album released by Rough Trade. At the time, the band was opening for the Strokes on international tours and gaining worldwide attention, but disbanded in 2004.
