About
The Tall Pines are creating a kaleidoscopic new brand of post-Americana rock n roll that blurs the lines between genres - garage rock, outlaw-country, punk, rockabilly, retro soul and blues, are all ingredients. Their songs explore the timeless challenges of personal struggle, love, lust, redemption, and the perseverance of the human spirit. With Connie Lynn Petruk singing and playing drums on her alligator skin suitcase, while Christmas Davis conjures greasy, fuzz-drenched riffs from his guitar, and howls along, this band’s live shows are not to be missed. The Tall Pines have played at The Stagecoach Music Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, 30A Songwriters Festival, and on bills with Steve Earle, Nikki Lane, Kid Congo Powers, Norah Jones, Tav Falco, Justin Townes Earle, Vicki Peterson & John Cowsill, JJ Grey & Mofro, Alejandro Escovedo, Low Cut Connie, Fantastic Cat Band, The Lost Bayou Ramblers, and more. They produce and host the popular live music series “The Tall Pines Revue” at the NY Public Theater, in New York City. The Tall Pines play road-trip music for everyday life, juke-joint pit stops, drive-in-movie soundtracks, and out-of-body experiences. We hope that you'll climb on in, and join us for the ride. "The Tall Pines are equal parts soul and twang, molasses and moonshine, sass and skill. The songs evoke the heyday of the country-soul hybrid without ever sounding unoriginal, a difficult feat.” ~ NPR Music
